JOB TITLE: Senior System Engineer

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard St., Dallas, Texas 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

Senior System Engineer needed by AT&T Services, Inc. in Dallas, Texas [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home] to lead the strategic alignment of application development roadmaps to application and enterprise strategies. Provide technical design and architectural leadership to teams and projects to help ensure applications are implemented and adhere to stated architectural and design principles and standards. Architect and design technology-enabled business and technical information solutions including specializations, platforms, and technologies. Research, analyze, and recommend new technologies, rationalization opportunities, standard processes, tools, and techniques to further the firm’s application and enterprise technology architecture strategies. Review business process and technical solution designs to help ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technologies. Enforce company policies in the areas of development methodology, architecture, security, and change and configuration management and compliance. Work on engineering activities for performance tuning, monitoring, deployment, and production support. Work on architecture and design of complex distributed applications using REST and Micro services architecture. Apply knowledge of application architectures, software development tools, and methodologies. Apply knowledge of Micro-services patterns and architectures. Work on application delivery. Build Java-based high-volume/high-transaction applications. Work on troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Build web applications using Java, Spring, and REST. Stay current with emerging technology trends.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electronic Engineering and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation working on architecture and design of complex distributed applications using REST and Micro services architecture; applying knowledge of application architectures, software development tools, and methodologies; applying knowledge of Micro-services patterns and architectures; working on application delivery; building Java-based high-volume/high-transaction applications; working on troubleshooting and performance tuning skills; building web applications using Java, Spring, and REST; and staying current with emerging technology trends.
