Job Description:

JOB TITLE:  Professional- System Engineer     

JOB LOCATION: 3400 W. Plano Parkway Plano, TX 75075   

DUTIES: Translate core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution including platforms, networks, software, and clouds. Use engineering models and techniques to perform functional, performance, and reliability analysis. Perform software development throughout the vertical stack. Define designs and provide technical enablement for application components and subsystems for applications. Drive important design decisions for development team. Elaborate on design and interface for specific components. Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context. Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partner with those teams in elaborating the solution and its interfaces. Validate technology assumptions and evaluate implementation alternatives. Establish critical NFRs at the solution level and participate in the definition of others. Create and enable the continuous delivery pipeline. Participate in planning, defining, and the high-level design of system solutions and explore alternatives. Develop the architectural runway in support of new business features and capabilities. Work with portfolio stakeholders and solution and enterprise architects to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers. Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, and retrospective workshops. Understand the technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms. Build and implement services to make operations more effective and reduce toil. Improve system reliability through the optimization of on-call processes and add automation and context to alerts. Update runbooks, tools, and documentation to help prepare on-call teams for future incidents. Build and optimize various parts of the SDLC or incident lifecycle to bolster reliability of the service. Use Java and Shell scripts. Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud environments. Network and troubleshoot within Unix. Work within an Agile environment. Use Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Quantum Metric, Kibana, and Grafana.                   

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical and Electronic Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three (3) years of experience in a related occupation using engineering models and techniques to perform functional, performance, and reliability analysis; performing software development throughout the vertical stack; creating and enabling the continuous delivery pipeline; participating in project planning, system and solution demos, and retrospective workshops; using Java and Shell scripts; utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud environments; networking and troubleshooting within Unix; working within an Agile environment; and using Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Quantum Metric, Kibana, and Grafana.

Our Professional- System Engineers earn between $140,000 - $196,100 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
