Job Description:
Manages a team responsible for Petroleum Storage Tank regulatory compliance and SPCC & Environmental Remediation programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in PST environmental compliance, vendor management, and exceptional leadership skills. A keen ability to think strategically and focus on expense reduction initiatives while leveraging data analytics skills and proficiency in PowerBI and/or Tableau are also highly preferred.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations pertaining to environmental, safety or health and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
Oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, life safety, work safety, ergonomics, DOT (Dept of Transportation) compliance and all other areas pertaining to safety, health or the environment.
Responsible for environmental compliance in multiple regions for environmental laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Conducts formal site assessments for fire/life/safety/environmental/security issues and facilitates the resolution of the issues.
Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health or safety hazards exist.
May provide/promote employee awareness/training on matters of the environment or health and safety.
Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve performance goals and expectations.
Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organizations(s).
Frequently interacts with supervising managers, customer and/or functional peer group managers.
May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
Manages, through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees.
Responsible for supervising and developing individual contributors or supervisors of staff in the workplace safety and environmental health areas.
Influences decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.
Responsible for the following areas for direct reports - career planning, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
May have 24/7 responsibility to respond to emergency situations.
Education: Preferred Bachelor’s degree related to Environment, Health, and Safety (i.e., engineering, physical, environmental or life science) or Bachelor’s degree relevant to applicable EHS field or 5 years of relevant experience in the applicable EHS field.
Experience: Typically 5 to 7 years of relevant Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience and/or EHS related professional certification preferred.
Supervisory: Yes.
Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&Ts compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Our Associate Director - Env/Health/Safety Managers earn between $130,700 & $196,100 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
